How long does the procedure take and will it hurt?
The procedure takes just a minute and from my experience babies recover very quickly after a few moments. There is no need to use anaesthetic and we need babies to use their tongue effectively after the procedure. Paracetamol can be used before /afterwards in babies above 8 weeks old.
Will there be much bleeding ?
There will be a few drops of blood after the procedure and the Practitioner will apply pressure with sterile gauze. If your baby has swallowed a small amount of blood, vomit may look red/brown for the next few hours.
How soon can I be seen?
We understand that you would like to be seen ASAP and if clinics are fully booked and you can't be seen within 1 week please contact me and I will do my best see you sooner.
Is there parking?
Yes there is a car park behind The Wilson Health Centre where you can park for free.
What ages do you see?
We routinely treat babies up to 6 months old.
How do I pay?
Payment is after appointment via bank transfer and details provided during appointment.
What about cancellations or refunds?
Cancellations
Please ensure you give more than 24 hours notice of cancellation to allow other parents to take up your appointment slot. Clients will be charged £50 fee if cancelling within 24 hours of booked appointment.
The Tongue Tie Clinic reserves the right to cancel any appointments in case of emergency circumstances. In the unlikely event that this should occur, an alternative appointment will always be made as soon as possible and at your convenience.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds after services have been delivered.
How do I make a complaint?

Complaints can also be made directly to the midwives’ governing body: The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
